Business sources top class team members

AS business began to grow for Dearing Plastics, so too did the need for a team of quality staff who could meet tight deadlines and provide top class products.

And so, in 2002, ARC was launched. The aim of the business, run by contracts manager Hollie Harris, was primarily to interview and recruit quality workers for Dearing Plastics.

"At the time, Dearing's was using a number of recruitment agencies and struggling to find a high level of quality and reliability," she said. "It made sense to develop our own recruitment business in order to focus on attracting, training and developing the right staff.

"From the start, we were clear about our philosophy. It wasn't just about finding jobs for people, but rather finding the right people for the jobs."

ARC quickly proved its success, and soon Dearing Plastics' clients were asking for help in recruiting staff in their own particular industries. So ARC expanded its in-house services to recruit production line workers for outside companies - and from there, things continued to grow.

"These days, we supply staff to a range of industries including construction, and we also recruit office staff," said Hollie.

"We interview potential employees on the site of the business concerned, so that people can see the environment where they might be working, and we can get a fuller picture. It works well for everyone."

In its first three years, ARC has seen great progress and, with plans for further expansion, is currently looking to employ an additional experienced recruitment manager.
